A new app store was recently launched at HIMSS’s mHealth Summit 2013 by IMS Health. The app store will not only let physicians and healthcare providers prescribe apps for their patients, but also send the app directly to their patients via secure email and SMS text.

Attendance continues to grow at the 2012 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition, held in Las Vegas at the Venetian Sands Expo Center from Feb. 20-24. As of Friday morning, Feb. 24, attendance at HIMSS12 reached 37,032 attendees, surpassing the HIMSS11 attendance figure of 31,500 attendees.
