Tech companies and healthcare organizations will have an easier time buying and selling health tech, thanks to a collaboration between Health 2.0 and digital purchasing company Lucro, called MarketConnect Live.

Announced at the recent Health 2.0 10th Annual Conference, MarketConnect Live is a “matchmaking event” that will make the process of health care buyers, like providers and pharmaceutical companies, obtaining assets from tech providers quicker.

According to a press release, here’s how it will work:

  • Buyers and Sellers register for MarketConnect Live.
  • Buyers receive a complimentary ticket to the Health 2.0 Fall Conference and share their organization’s tech needs. Sellers purchase a customized meeting package.
  • Participants can enhance their MarketConnect Live experience by using Lucro’s digital platform to share their strategic initiatives and learn more about potential solutions in advance of the event.
  • Through a rigorous vetting process, Health 2.0 matches Buyers and Sellers based on interest, market segment, growth stage and tech relevance.

What makes the vetting process rigorous isn’t entirely clear but it’s certainly an interesting idea. GIven the size and scope of the digital health marketplace, it’s not hard to imagine how healthcare providers may never hear about innovative tools that may actually be of value to them. And while this service is currently invite-only, this type of “match-making” could easily be extended to a larger audience via a virtual matchmaking platform.
