Measuring & Tracking Blood Pressure
Before starting, there are two basic steps to complete. The first is creating a profile on the app and the second is pairing the monitor with your smartphone. Both are straightforward and quick to complete. After the initial pairing is done, opening the app will automatically launch to the testing screen if your monitor is within range. On the rare occasions that it did not automatically pair, it turned out I’d let the battery drain on the monitor.
Tapping the Input button on the lower right lets you manually input measurements, such as those taken at the pharmacy or in clinic. The monitor also features an “off-line” measurement mode that lets you take measurements even when the device is not connected to a smartphone – those measurements are saved by the monitor and can be uploaded by tapping the Upload button on the lower right.
Once you tap Ok, the device will start inflating and display the tracing it’s detecting in real time. Once the measurement is captured, you can add a note Such as what medications you’d taken that day.
Tapping on Trends, you can review your history in both a graph and list format. Turning landscape lets you view a bigger graph of the data, though it oddly doesn’t make full use of the screen’s real estate. The graphs can be manipulated with standard touch gestures to change scale and timeframe displayed. A nice addition here would be the ability to add customized bars to mark target systolic and diastolic blood pressures.
