4) Medical Calculator — Qx Calculate
There is no right answer when it comes to finding a good medical calculator app, as I find it to be a personal decision based on your needs and comfort with the app’s user interface. Of the many calculators on my iPhone, I find Qx Calculate, MediMath, and MedCalc each very useful. I tend to use Qx Calculate first due to its beautiful interface; the app has one of the best user experiences of any app in any category. However, sometimes it is simply too fancy for its own good. That’s when I turn to MediMath or MedCalc for just the equations, nothing fancy. Most have all the same calculators, but Qx Calculate has two I use frequently at the point of care that are not easily found on other medical calculators: Epworth Sleepiness Scale and Pretest Probability of CAD.
