10) wikEM

WikEM is a crowdsourced database of Emergency Medicine information. Wikem.org tries to emulate the Wikipedia model by having users be the ones to change the content. The hope is that with time, this resource will become more useful as more authors contribute to it.

I think the overall concept is great, but the execution is still being worked on. It’s a free endeavor, so I understand some patience is required. There are definitely times where the app just won’t work, or is slow to respond. Also, the authors need to do a more robust job citing the content that is included.

But I like the thought — even though it’s very much still a work in progress.
