iMedicalApps is in the process of significantly expanding our writing staff.  We are currently hiring physician editors to fill the following specialties:  Endocrinology, Anesthesia, General Surgery, Ob/Gyn, and Hematology/Oncology.  If you’re not in those specialties, but would still like to contribute, you can still apply.

Over the past few years, iMedicalApps has become the leading publication on mobile medical technology. We’ve been interviewed by the New York Times, Wired, and other media outlets. We’ve also written about mobile health in academic journals and spoken at professional society meetings, federal agencies like the FDA, and think tanks like the Brookings Institute.

Our Editors have been recognized as being at the frontier of mobile technology.  Publishing on iMedicalApps has enabled Editors to flourish in their private and academic careers.

We’re looking to extend those types of opportunities to a few health care professionals who have a strong grasp of mobile medicine and technology.

What we’re looking for

  • Ability to allocate 3 to 4 hours a week to writing (producing one app review a week in addition to another piece).
  • Either a practicing physician or resident physician.  If you do not fill this category but feel you can contribute we will still read your application.
  • We have a strict conflict of interest policy (stronger than the New England Journal of Medicine) — so if you create medical apps, consult for medical app companies, then you cannot be an Editor.
  • One year commitment is required.

The ideal candidate is someone with excellent writing skills and a tech enthusiast — someone who uses mobile medicine in their current workflow for clinical, educational, and patient interaction.

This expansion is next phase of our continued growth and it will not be limited to just physicians. Effective healthcare is delivered by a diverse team of professionals and we want to mirror that.

Our aim is to be the go-to resource for healthcare professionals when it comes to mobile health. Whether it’s learning about what’s coming down the pipeline or figuring out how to use currently available tools in practice, iMedicalApps will have the answers.
