Purpose of the Review

In this review we will assess the worth of Cito! Lab Values for physicians and students as a reference tool.

Introduction

For today’s physicians, the task of remembering the range values for every lab and test out there is quite a tricky one.

Having reference laboratory values with you at all times proves valuable to any health care provider.

Cito! Lab Values is an app developed by a Russian company named Grab App who seems to be fairly new to the Android scene.

User Interface

Upon starting up the app we face the main screen. The lab values are grouped together according to different categories. These groups are:

  • Hematology
  • Biochemical blood analysis
  • Cardiac markers
  • Liver function tests
  • Lipid panel
  • Blood gases and acid-base status
  • Electrolytes
  • Hormones and mediators
  • Tumor markers
  • Urine analysis
  • Gastric secretion
  • Feces analysis
  • Spermogram
  • Immunology
  • Cerebrospinal fluid
  • Vitamins

Cito! Lab Values

While the general user interface is functional, the information is presented in plain tables which can sometimes be hard to read at a glance. All the different values are in SI units as well. The app allows you to switch languages between Russian and English.

The array and selection of tests available is good as you can find stuff that’s normally not available on other Lab reference apps. However, as with most reference apps, one would like to know the source for these values. Unfortunately, Cito! Lab Values will leave you wanting.

Likes

  • Good selection of tests
  • Information appears solid

Dislikes

  • No source cited
  • Tables lack formatting

Conclusion

  • Cito! Lab Values is a good enough reference app when compared to those already in the market. It does not precisely shine on its own but could be an option to consider if you still haven’t found your favorite app. This app is also good for medical students.
