We’re excited to announce the start of the iMedicalApps sponsorship program! With our new site launching next month, it will dramatically reduce the number of ads currently present so more content will be displayed. Instead, we are planning on having a more straightforward approach to advertising on the site through our sponsorship program. The goal is to bring simplicity and a better flow overall to the site. We still haven’t “finalized” the plan, and still want to get feedback from our readers as we get into later.
Sponsorships will be for one week in duration and offer exclusive visibility to our medical community.
We have over 11,000 registered users on iMedicalApps and the apps we review get a tremendous bump and exposure.
A developer emailed us the bump they receive when we review an app, displaying the “iMA effect”:
Obviously, we will make a clear wall between the companies providing sponsorships and writers — similar to how the New England Journal of Medicine has a wall between the ads in their articles and the content. Just as CNET and other tech websites that review products and have advertisements from the same product, we will have a straightforward conflict of interest policy. Once our new site launches we will update our own COI document.
Sponsors will get the following:
1. A one week solo top right column placement on the new site
2. A thoughtful, dedicated post describing their product or app
3. Promotion through Facebook (over 10K followers) and Twitter (over 18K followers)
4. A spot in our weekly newsletter that goes out to over 11K registered users (over 6K are physicians).
