Purpose of App Review
To find out if this app can provide valuable information to physicians about Cardiology.
Introduction
As a physician in today’s world there is a need to be constantly updating our medical knowledge.
The sources of information available are many and if we simply stick to just one source, we risk missing out on important news.
Cardiology at Hand is an Android app that gathers information from several Cardiology journals like the Journal of Interventional Cardiology and the Journal of Clinical Hypertension and provides access to that information all in one place.
User Interface
As we launch the app, the main screen has separate tabs that group articles depending on whether they are Clinical, Interventionist, Surgical or important Cardiology Events.
The category view of each of these tabs sorts the content in a chronological order allowing for easier access to recent postings. While we are on the article view we can read the abstract or summary of the article. We can also open it in our browser as well as share it through Android’s share system.
The Events tab is quite an interesting feature as physicians can learn about upcoming conferences and plan accordingly.
The About tab provides information about the app and its sources.

Conclusion
- It’s odd that the developers chose to have “Share” and “Bookmark” visible while reading an abstract. One has to tap the Menu button to find the option to “Open in browser”. All in all, this app can be of help to physicians interested in cardiology issues.
