The EDCPro provides a wheel-less interface to calculate gestational age data. The first section, “Info to EDC” allows you to put in various types of information to calculate the current EGA and the EDC or EDD – estimated date of confinement/delivery.
You can enter date of ovulation, date of LMP, crown rump length (CRL), biparietal diameter (BPD), ETO2 and BT. I am a bit unclear as to what the last two measurements are and there is no guide for abbreviations. Putting in data for each option provides its own EDD and EGA, without averaging them at the end.
The second section is a bit more straightforward than the first, but with fewer options. Selecting an EDD brings up a week-by-week and day-by-day calendar. This option allows you to figure out the exact week and day for a particular day or vice versa in tabular format.
If this is too cumbersome, you can also select a particular date and the app will calculate the EGA on that date. Conversely, you can put in the EGA–under the GW (gestational week) option– and the app will indicate the correct date for that EGA.
In the final section, Gestational Week to Info, you can put in an EGA for a particular day. The app then calculates the EDD and provides a pregnancy calendar like the previous section.
This app has several interesting features, including the ability to get the EDD by fetal biometry and providing a full calendar of EGA and dates. I like this app for these features.
I find the app somewhat limited in that no explanation of abbreviations is given (you can say the same thing different ways) and it is a bit difficult to figure out how the app works at first. Once you figure it out, though, it provides some powerful information.
