QuickSee MD won the first Startup Weekend Philadelphia, which was held June 1-3 at the VentureFOrth incubator and was entirely focused on health care technology. QuickSee MD allows individuals to find urgent specialty care from local pediatricians, gynecologists and obstetricians rather than going to an emergency room. You can expect the startup to be a participant in the recently announced IBX Games Challenge.
Other entries of note include; StumptheMD, which is a gaming app aimed at medical students which essentially crowdsources flashcards for general diagnostic training; BevBuddy, an attempt to solve the problem of excessive caloric intake from beverages, which they estimate to be as much as 25 percent of total daily calorie consumption; Health Here and Now developed a mobile app to help users find and schedule healthy products and services to meet their health profile; and FoodMood developed an app to empower users to determine which foods made them feel good and which did not.
