I have a two part question.
First, what is the best or most effective way to promote and communicate your insitutional mobile resources? Is it via the library web page, classes, word of mouth, etc?
Second, how do you convey all of the steps that patrons must do so that they can use insitutional resources such as FirstConsult, EBSCO, Scopus, etc. easily. It seems that each on of these companies requires to first create a user account while on campus then download the app. Once they launch the app they use their username and password from their account to login. This seems to be like it can be complicated for people understand. Additionally there are some companies that have extra steps that increase the complexity. For example, STATRef gives patrons a temporary account and then they have to keep renewing every 90 days or they lose access. (As if accesing ebooks aren't difficult enough.)
Do you see people having problems with all of these hoops that they have to jump through to access the resource?
