Wow this thread is a great resource!
Nova Southeastern University's Health Professions Division (HPD) Library also has a Mobile Resources LibGuide: http://nova.campusguides.com/content.php?pid=104950&sid=835769
The list includes mobile-optimized databases which the library subscribes to, as well as apps for library resources. Many other apps are included as we post apps that our librarians, faculty and students recommend based on their experiences using the apps. However, I agree with many of the comments that it is difficult to keep this list current as the technology changes, and new apps are released.
For Marc-Emile: Our institution does purchase apps in bulk to take advantage of the discounts. We make purchases through the Apple Volume Purchasing Program for Education. The Library circulates iPads to students, faculty and staff, and we pre-load the devices with many medical, education, and production apps. In addition, many of the health professions departments are embarking on tablet projects and initiatives, and they also make volume purchases. So, yes, please encourage developers to create discounted packages for academic institutions - and thank you in advance! :)
