We just switched over to an EMR at an outpatient endoscopy center that I provide services for. The endoscopist set up the system to be used with laptops and a stylus on their touchscreen. It works well, the stylus is smooth, the laptop is bulky. So we figured out how to set up a virtual network that allows us to use our iPad to enter the system and chart. Where we are having trouble is that there are times the patient has to sign the chart and places we need to chart graphically which requires a stylus. The big rubber tipped stylus is light years behind the windows based stylus which is pinpoint accurate. This is painful to admit.
Have any of you found a peripheral that works with iPad that will allow for more effective stylus use? Have any of you found a good way to import signatures into your EMR? The iPad is so much lighter and convenient.
Thanks in advance.
