Next mHealth tweet chat to focus on self-monitoring devices, Wednesday, January 30

It’s just a few weeks into the new year – have you been keeping up with your new year’s resolution to stay fit and get healthy?

Our mHealth tweet chats will be back starting next Wednesday, January 30 at 9pm ET, with an exciting chat about self-tracking fitness apps and devices. Healthcare professionals can increasingly expect to see these devices being used by their patients – how will they fit in to your practice?

We’ve talked about a number of these devices including a review series of the Fitbit Ultra, Nike FuelBand, and Jawbone UP activity monitors by Dr. David Ahn. Some data, though in small series, has suggested that devices that enable personal activity monitor may help individuals achieve fitness and weight loss goals.

At this tweet chat, Timothy Aungst, Pharm.D.(@TDAungst), Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, will be making his debut as the new mHealth chat moderator. We look forward to some great chats with our new moderator and look forward to Wednesday’s discussion!

The iMedicalApps team would like to thank Brittany Chan for her efforts not only with the tweet chats but also with a number of other projects. We wish her all the best as she begins her residency in pediatrics!
