1. MedScape
Not surprisingly, MedScape comes in at #1 on our list of the Top 10 Apps for Internal Medicine residents. Medscape clearly represents the most comprehensive medical resource available on the iPhone, and ranked number one on our list of “Top 20 Free iPhone Apps for Health Care Professionals”. However, not only does MedScape facilitate the practice of medicine for health care professionals, it also helps residents learn about medicine.
Although the strengths of MedScape are many, we like to point out the user-friendly interface, powerful search feature (sortable by drugs/conditions/procedures), and strong monographs for illnesses as well as chief complaints. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention MedScape’s powerful drug interaction checker, allowing for the entry of up to 30 medications at a time. Moreover, emphasizing its ability to educate, MedScape offers an impressive range of articles on clinical medicine as well as new recommendations from professional societies in its “Education” and “News” sections, offering an alternative (or rather, supplement) to journal articles. MedScape is certainly a must-have application for Internal Medicine physicians.

Micromedix is often ignored but much better than ePocrates or Medscape when looking for pharmacology.
Yep — one of the unsung apps for physicians in the app store. Love
how it has no frills and its simplicity.
lexi complete is wonderful.
yes, lexi is the best drug database, but it’s expensive…micromedex is free, and better than epocrates
Micromedex is the best pharm app. But if you have access to a clinical pharmacist, that’s much better.
PEPID didn’t make the list but takes the cake for me. I would rather pay for quality content I can trust. Many of the companies that offer “Free” apps are offered incentives by pharmaceutical companies to prioritize their drug lists. http://www.pepid.com/
