Our goal here is simple – to help connect physicians, nurses, PA’s, NP’s, EMT’s, and students to the apps that will help make them better at caring for patients. Whether that’s by learning anatomy better, having tools to share with your patients, or an accessible refresher on how to do procedures, there’s a lot out there that could us and you take better care of physicians. So please let us know (in the comments section here) what apps you would like to see reviewed. We’d especially appreciate links to the app’s iTunes page. We want to be responsive to what our readers want, so give us a hand by pointing us to the apps you’d like to know more about. In the meantime, we’ll keep looking for apps that we want to make sure our peers to know about.

Since your asking I’d love to have a review on two apps I’ve written:
http://gshaw.ca/imedterms
http://gshaw.ca/idefibrillate
I have more medical apps planned before my nursing course starts in the Fall and am open to ideas for future apps.
Thanks for the submission – if you could submit these apps for review (check out the About page), that’d be great. Its always nice when medical providers put these kinds of resources together to address the specific obstacles they have faced.
I’m fresh out of residency, and I’m trying to find out which dictation software to use. The system at my academic center is way outdated, and I saw some dragon dictation software that is supposed to be released soon for the iPhone. I’d like to know what my other options might be. Thanks!
The Dragon software is pretty impressive – there are some interesting new/software out there in addition to that though. We’ll look into it. Thanks!
I’d love to see if there are any good translation apps out there, esp geared towards use in the ER
aAnesthesia
Anesthesiology Calculator
CT Scan Interpreter
Gas Guide
iauscult
InstantECG
SonoAccess
STAT Asthma
Thats quite a library of apps. We’ll put them in the queue for reviews. Thanks!
Gas Guide
Hi!
How about the EMRA Antibiotic Guide?
Marc-Emile-
Dr. Alkadhi, one of our writers, is actually working on a post for the EMRA antibiotic guide. I asked him his prelim response to the app recently, and he said it was good, but not as thorough as the book. He’ll have a detailed review up on the site, hopefully shortly.
PEPID (esp. Pepid EM)
Hello, can you review the PEPID iphone medical apps: http://www.pepid.com/iphone/de… They have a 2 week free trial and many different versions.
Thanks for the suggestion – they certainly have an impressive library of apps!
GI Monitor for IBD – Crohn’s and Colitis – http://itunes.apple.com/WebObj…
Hi Brett – Review is up! Thanks
I’d like to see medical dictionaries reviewed. I need one that can be accessed when not online for ipod touch and one that is not “subscription” based, i.e. doesn’t lock you out one year after purchase.
Thank you
Thanks for the suggestion – thats a great idea and we’ll look into it!
We have actually reviewed two medical dictionaries already, that are not subscription based. We have detailed reviews of each:
1) /20…
*Merck Manual Professional Edition
2) /20…
*Harrisons Manual of Medicine
Thanks for looking into this for me, but these are not dictionaries. I have actually purchased the Merck Manuel and it is one of my favorite apps. I also own the hardback version of Harrisons. Would like a medical dictionary for looking up meanings of obscure medical terms though.
