Thanks for the comments Dr. Schectman, we always appreciate it when developers of the app comment on our reviews, since you know the app inside and out. I addressed your comments in the "Editor’s Addendum and comments" section at the end of the review.

Thank you for the detailed review of our App, Procedures: Hospital Collection. We appreciate the praise and the constructive suggestions, some of which we hope to implement with the next update. More details, screenshots, and a video demo of the App are available at http://www.meistermed.com/proc...

After reading your review, there are a few corrections and clarifications worth noting. The review indicates that only one of the procedures in our App (CPAP/BiPAP) expands beyond the content available in the Procedure Consult: Internal Medicine App. In fact, five additional procedures from Procedures: Hospital Collection are missing from the competing Procedures Consult App. These include:
- Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy
- Glidescope intubation
- Laryngeal mask airway
- Orotracheal intubation
- Internal jugular line placement with ultrasound guidance
- Chest tube placement

While it is true that the Procedures Consult App contains ten more procedures than the Hospital Collection, most of these are not relevant for an inpatient procedure App targeted to physicians and physicians-to-be. Some are outpatient procedures (tick removal, skin stapling, local anesthesia, Pap smear, ear wax removal) whereas others are procedures more commonly performed by ancillary staff (phlebotomy, IV placement, NG placement). Nice to have, perhaps, but not procedures we plan to include in our App which is focused on hospital-based procedures performed by physicians.

Our App includes CPT codes for each procedure, not ICD-9 codes as stated. The CPT codes are the ones most physicians will use for procedure billing.

One extra feature not mentioned in the review is the ability for users to add their own custom notes in Procedures: Hospital Collection.

Procedures: Lumbar Puncture is now free in the App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app... This App includes the full content from one of the 15 hospital-based procedures included in the Hospital Collection and gives users the chance to fully evaluate the quality and scope of the content before purchasing the larger Procedures: Hospital Collection App.

Thanks again for the in-depth review.
