I'm really hoping Android streamlines its App Store, and possibly even stream lines its OS. Open Source is great, but I really want them to have an App Store that is extremely competitive with Apple's App Store. Right now it seems like Apple has that monopoly and its amazing how hard such a vibrate store is to replicate for these other OS platforms.

VM is an interesting point, but again, I think right now it isn't processor speeds thats lacking, its battery life that seems to be the biggest hurdle. Even the blazing fast snapdragon in the Nexus isn't clocked to its full potential in order to save batter life.

At the end of the day, I really hope Palm and Google are able to make vibrant app stores that motivate developers in the same way as Apple does, b/c that type of competition will breed the best result for the end consumer.

In a few years we will be wondering why we had these conversations. The model of selling cheap app through stores is not working. It looks like it is but, there is not a business model that allows software developers to make money. This will soon change, you will have VM that allow you to run software on any phone platform. This is the first pass at providing apps to user similar to early days of internet. It will take more than one pass to find a model that works

we will have to wait an see.
