Not gonna happen without a jail break? Why? Because the iOS Bluetooth stack is EXTREMELY limited. You cannot even pair a bluetooth GPS on it without jailbreaking and using something like BT Stack. I have the Littman 3200 and it is not recognized by my iPad, my iPhone, or my iPod Touch 2. Unless Apple rewrites the bluetooth stack to accomodate Littman & Zargis, the app won't happen. I am currently writing a bluetooth stack for my jailbroken iPad that wil allow me to receive the audio from my steth to teach my nursing and paramedic students how to properly auscultate.

Rob F, RN MSN, ACNP-BC, NREMT-P AAS,

The Littmann stethoscope is very nice. We recommend training your ears. Use the Littmann auscultation CDs ($70 for set) or the less expensive web site www.easyauscultation.com

The zargis software is extremely clumsy on the PC. It is really slow and uses a lot of memory. Also, there is no 'real time' feel.

There are no apple approved custom bluetooth peripherals for the iPhone, that I have seen.

--Tom
